The login into the PrivaSphere account can be additionally secured with a TOTP authentication.

Time-based one-time password (TOTP) is a computer algorithm that generates a one-time password (OTP) that uses the current time as a source of uniqueness. As an extension of the HMAC-based one-time password algorithm (HOTP), it has been adopted as Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard RFC 6238.

Prerequisite: Install a TOTP app on your mobile phone. Links to possible apps can be found below.

To activate PrivaSphere TOTP authentication, log in to your PrivaSphere account and go to: "My Account" -> "Login Settings":

1. Click on the TOTP Logo
 


2. Scan the QR code with your TOTP application.

3. Enter the TOTP one-time password that is displayed in the app.
 

4. IMPORTANT: save the BACKUP code displayed and keep it safe and secure.

This backup code is required if you change or reinstall your TOTP app.


5. this completes the installation

Go to www.privasphere.com and log in "normally" with your user name (email address) and password:

The TOTP one-time password query appears. Open the TOTP app on the mobile phone and enter the TOTP one-time password that is displayed.

You are logged into PrivaSphere Secure Messaging.

A password reset is only possible with a valid TOTP one-time password.

If you do not have the TOTP app or the backup code, please contact our hotline.

Log in to the PrivaSphere account. Click on the trash can in the setting - The login via TOTP procedure will be removed. To activate it again, the process must be started from the beginning.
